Emergency Department

The Emergency Department (ED), also commonly known as the Emergency Room (ER) is a specialized medical facility within Anderson’s Hospital designed to provide immediate medical care to patients with acute and life-threatening medical conditions. It is the primary entry point for individuals seeking emergency medical attention.

Key components and functions of our Emergency Department include:

1. Emergency Triage: Upon arrival, patients are triaged to determine the severity of their condition. Triage ensures that the most critical cases receive immediate attention.

2. Rapid Assessment: Emergency physicians and nurses quickly assess and diagnose patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.

3. Treatment of Critical Conditions: Our ED is equipped to manage severe medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, severe injuries and respiratory distress.

4. Stabilization: The ED stabilizes patients and provides necessary interventions to prevent further deterioration.

5. Emergent Procedures: When necessary, emergency procedures like wound suturing, setting fractures or intubation can be performed.

6. Resuscitation: ED are equipped for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced life support to address cardiac arrest or respiratory failure.

7. Observation:Patients may be observed for a period to monitor their condition and determine whether they need to be admitted to the hospital or can be discharged.

8. Trauma Care: Our ED is designated as trauma centers, capable of treating severe injuries resulting from accidents, violence or natural disasters.

Our Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 and is an essential part in providing immediate care to patients regardless of the time or day. It plays a critical role in saving lives and stabilizing patients in critical conditions before transferring them to the appropriate hospital units for further care if necessary.
